wrong event date by mistake

i noticed that when i choose an event date and time, if i click by mistake beside the ''apply'' button, the window closes and the date and time comes back to the by default date.
Would it be possible to not to be able to close the date/time window by mistake and only by clicking the APPLY or CANCEL button ?
We have had a few events with the wrong dates and we figure it was because of that

This is not going to be a possibility, because there has not been a change technically because the new date and time has not been applied, so until a change is made and applied it's going to just leave in the default date and time.
