Is there a way to confirm that the contact email was actually sent out?

I am starting to send out contracts through the IO web platform, but as far as I can tell, there seems to be no way to confirm that the contract email that I send out didn't bounce back. Is there somewhere I'm not looking?

go to the lead and look at the LOG it will show it was sent and what time etc.
it will also show if it was opened and what time also

Yes as Greg has said, check the log on the lead and you can see from there any action that has happened for this lead.
