Website bloat

Greetings,

I am having a severe issue with bloat and poor performance on my Wordpress site. For background, I took over my IO account, Wordpress site, and all assets from the previous owners few months ago. I’ve ran speed tests through multiple sites and discovered a ton of bloat, render blocking, server delays, io js for gutters/tents/misc, multiple google maps api’s, etc.

I have used multiple cache plugins/image optimizers/etc and settled on wp-rocket premium, Cloudflare, and shortpixel IO. I’ve unloaded countless js/css from the home page with Asset Cleanup, I’ve removed fontawesome & Google fonts and downloaded them all to self host, removed image carousels and simplified designs with html rather than elementor widgets- all to decrease the bloat. This has all helped tremendously, however there are still render blockers and other bloat-adding “fill in the blank” that are bogging down my website. Can someone please look into what is going on? (For reference, I’ve attached PageSpeed Insights results from a blank page.

Thank you kindly,

The pagespeed insight results actually look good. Your website loads very quickly on both desktop and mobile when I looked at it across a few devices. It can very difficult to have pagespeed give great results without a very basic website with little content, as it's very strict.

Unless you are noticing an issue with the site, or getting reports from users about it I don't think there is anything else needed in regards to adjusting performance.

I guess that’s good news. I suppose the main reason I’m bringing this up here is because I’ve found io js that has nothing to do with my company. For instance, there was an io_map_container shortcode that was adding additional render blocking for a google maps API that was not associated with my site (or I believe the previous owner’s site). There are also the js/CSS from the io plugin. Are these all relevant for my site?

Thank you,

Currently, there's not a way to disable only some features/javascript through IO like this.

Darn! Not the answer I was hoping for… but it is what it is I suppose. Thank you Christian for your assistance, once again. If you have any tricks for increasing performance please share. I’m a bit OCD & very competitive, so a 62/100 (or just yellow) mark for performance bothers me oh so very very much. lol thanks

Do you want to post your website and I can see if it's loading slow on my end? Maybe it's just on your end because you're logged in?

Also, I feel like my own website has been a smidge slow the last day or two and figured it's just some update or lag and will fix itself in time. Mine is only recent though. I hope yours gets worked out!
