You have to link them as parent child. I did that and it is now showing in red.

im not sure that fixed it

the test unit shouldnt show available either because there is 1 unit that is used in the wet test and the same unit is used in teh dry test but it shows available in the inventory list as not red

You don't have to have a build quantity, they just have to be linked parent child.

what about the question above the build qty screen shot?

I think the build quantity tells io how many "test wet" items are required to build this item. I have a 3-piece obstacle course set up this way. It requires 1 each of the 3 pieces. a7819fe635c0ac9228fe246bb0c9e826

Wait, now I'm not sure. I have a mechanical bull with a sibling "Radical Surf", showing a build quantity of 1. The bull definitely does not use 1 surf machine, but the surf machine does remove 1 bull from inventory. It might mean something different for child items and siblings.

Build quantity is used to show how a rental is build up.

Especially like for OC's it comes in handy.

If it is showing 1, it means just that piece.

as i been messing with this more it wont allow me to remove any of the relationships there is no trash can options

casey do you have trash can options to remove?

I don't have a trash can on my existing items, but when I create a new item it has a trash can

Why would you actually build it up like this?

My wet/dry units are assigned to every category I want them to show up (dry version/wet version), no more using that rental/accessory stuff anymore.

I'm sure he set this up before we had the option to put items in multiple categories. I may still have some older items set up this way too. It looks like you're no longer able to unlink them yourself, which is the other problem he's running into.

...or, Greg isn't actually using this for wet/dry units, he only named them that way for a test. His follow-up question about tents makes me think this is the case.

you are correct Casey i was testing for an item we want to do that way and i just tried it with quick test to make sure it worked :) sorry if i got everyone confused.. i just used that from my inflatable days LOL

but it still shows below why i have questions .. doing it how Jen said gives the red but a negative number which would in fact create our staff to think we was actually overbooked by 1 when actually we are just out.. so that count needs to be fixed in programming

Greg you only need to have a wet unit and a dry unit, they only have to be linked as parent/child, you don't need a build quantity as there's nothing to build. If you would like I can unlink them and we can start over and I can show you how to set it up. Just let me know.

Thanks!

This is because the test unit is actually the same unit so it will show as negative, your not doing a build like you do with the tents. I hope this makes sense.
