Linking a relationship for items within a package

I’m having trouble with linking items that is within the Balloon Package. I have several packages so if I can understand how to link with the Balloon package, I should be able to link the other packages. The Balloon package includes the balloon bounce house and balloon wet combo (and dry combo). Every time I test with booking the balloon bounce house, the balloon package is still available, but shouldn’t be because the bounce house is booked; or if I book the balloon bounce house only, the balloon wet combo is also not available 😩. Thanks in advance for the help.

when you set up the package you need to do the package as an inventory item

then add accessory items to it the ballon house and balloon wet combo ( i assume you have one of each) and link it to the item like this

then when you book the package it iwll show those items not available

if you book one of those accessory items it will not allow the package to be rented.

it will show the items that are not available in red if you try to book and show those items still available like normal so you can book them individually but not part of a package

The same thing will happen if you book the package teh items become unavailable


check how you have the items linked

Hi Greg, I did exactly that. Everything you mention above is how I setup the package. I’ve tested this by booking the balloon bounce house for 5/30. I then tried to book the balloon package for the same day and it is stating it’s available but it shouldn’t because the balloon bounce house is not available. See screenshot attached.

so did you fully book the balloon bounce house or just put it in the cart?

what do you have your cart settings in wp set like?

Yes it’s fully booked. I change the status as if payment was received and it’s on my calendar. I’m not sure of my cart setting.

i did a test on my site with a test item / package and my cart is set up different but when i get is a booking attempt email and it is on hold until we look at it which owuld allow the client to book it but they get a message that we will call them.. it wont allow them to book but iwll allow us to get it like a booking and allow our staff to see if we have any options to help them etc. i think we set it up that way years ago to be able to work with our client to get them into something else and keep them instead of them saying .. not available ill go somewhere else...LOL


it has to be a cart setting but i have tried several and regardless my site will allow them to go through the full process but wont allow payment until we work it out.

I think the cart setting is fine. I like how it is setup because it would let the customer up front that the item is not available. I sent the screenshot, just to show that the balloon package was still showing available and it shouldn’t since the balloon bounce house was already booked for that day. Let me know what you find out to link the individual items to the package items. Thanks in advance.

brandy.. do you have the items linked to the balloon package already? i thought you had already got that part accomplishted>>


if not go to settings/inventory/pick the item/click on the left menu accessories or scroll down to it/ then in the empty box add the times that you want to include in the package and check the link check box and qty of 1 or how every many you need of each one. then save it will auto populate when you schedule teh package to include all the items included there
