System should automatically send email to customer when customer generates a quote

Under Consideration

I cant tell you how many customers call after waiting for their quote email to show up, and it never does. We manually send them, but the quote page and subsequent quote confirm page are not very user friendly/intuitive....many customers expect that the quote will be emailed to them since they enter all their info, including email address, and then hit 'submit'. Then they go to their email days later to find the specifics and our contact info and nothing.

If you're concerned about bombarding them with emails as they revise/edit the quotes, maybe the last generated quote should send automatically if after X minutes they havent done it themselves.

Just a thought.

We do have an auto email called Customer - Recent Quote (customer created). You can set the parameter from 3 days to 0 days, and it will send them sooner. We don't send for every quote. We send one quote of the group they get.

what does this mean.. I am a bit confused

(We don't send for every quote. We send one quote of the group they get.)

Jason just wanted the "customer - recent quote" email to go out immediately.

In your case, the software looks to see if they have recently got a quote within roughly the same time range and only sends one email reminder for that group of leads.

so if a client puts in multiple quotes they only get one of them?

We have clients put on quotes one after the other all the time.. does that mean they are only getting one of them?

What is the time frame between the sends on multiple quotes?

Is that something we need to look at daily to see if they went out when the put in multiple ones?

If the customer submits the form, they'll see the price in front of them immediately. If they hit the edit button to fill out the form again, they'll create a new lead and see the price again immediately in the browser. They'll only get one reminder email for the most recent lead they submitted within 24 hours of that lead. If the "customer - recent quote" auto email is set to send less than 24 hours from the time it's created (like in Jason's scenario where it sends right away), they'll get a reminder email for the most recent lead each time.

This isn't preventing any manual emails from going to the customer. It's just preventing the customer from getting several emails of the same type over and over again when they submit the quote form several times in a row.
