When an updated schedule email goes out it has a link to the staff about seeing your full schedule etc and also allows them access from that link to set up calendar and other worker settings

is there a way to add that same link to the email we send out the first time telling them they are scheduled for a shift?

Yes. These are the "worker - ...." templates in Settings->Email Center. The line you are referring to is just a hyperlink to

In the HTML, this looks like the following
