Get Journal Entries API
Answered
Hello,
I am hoping to use the API to retrieve journal entries for a particular lead or customer. I don't see that in the documentation, but does it exist?

No, I don't believe so. What's the lead? We can take a look. Was a journal entry added to the lead and accidentally deleted?

no, it's not that. I'm building automation tools that intakes information from IO and does things with it. For example, automatically follows up with certain customers, at certain times of the year. There's more to these tools, but the basic idea is that we want to use the information in IO, often with the help of AI, and automatically take action based on that information, either one demand, when certain events happen, or on a schedule. For example automatically summarizing all previous interactions with a particular customer across multiple systems (IO, email, calls, etc) so our event planners have all the context when talking to repeat customers without the need to search across multiple sources.
For us, one of the richest sources of information about what happened with a previous customer is the CRM Journal Entries. So obviously, I want to get that information out of IO and into our external tools, but right now it seems like that's not possible. Am I right?
I noticed that in creating an API key, there is a permission for Journal notes as listed below, which says you can view. and you can set that permission to read only, but i guess it's impossible to actually use it to read. is that right?
Can we get that endpoint added?
