I'm redesigning an IO site and need to figure out the best path forward with migration and upgrading, but am running into problems.

My current live site has all my content that I want to keep for SEO purposes. But its hosted externally when I don't need that, its built on the old IO plugin, and doesn't have Elementor.

My new site is designed off the latest IO plugin and Elementor based theme. I have it set up on IO hosting as a dev page and it works well.

I could maybe transfer all the existing pages, posts, media and plugins, but my concern is that if I do it wrong, it would mess up SEO. Additionally, seems more time consuming to selectively transfer specific parts of the site.

As an alternative, I've tried transferring my existing site to a fresh IO dev site, using Migration Guru. This worked well for all of the content from the old site. However, I can no longer directly login to the WP admin via the IO interface. Additionally, the default plugins from the newer IO sites got disabled. This breaks the license with Elementor Pro (and probably other plugins if they require a license. Like maybe Wordfence Security? Rank Math SEO?)

Is there a way to fix those integrations on the new site?

Hello,

I was able to fix the login link and reconnect your Wordfence and Elementor plugins.

As for SEO, the best thing you can do is keep the same URL structure as before. But there is no way to avoid a slow down in SEO rankings when switching out your site. Google will need to re-index all of the changes you've made. Once the indexing is done your ranks will return to normal.

But when Iogin, I get a yellow banner "Wordfence installation is incomplete". When I try to resume installation, it prompts me to get a wordfence license or install an existing one.

This is on the 654 site.

The 965 site was another attempt at migration (I think y'all set this up?). It was accessible but didn't have any of these plugins (only what was on the original site). Not sure if this affected something on that site, but now that one is down. (Just an FYI, we don't really need both)

Also, are these fixes something I could have initiated on my end from within WordPress or the IO portal? Just trying to understand the process better?
