How can I avoid events showing up on my calendar without the customer paying the mandatory deposit. I tried it myself and once i sign the contract the event shows on the calendar, but i did not pay the mandatory deposit.

Go to Settings->Statuses and set the Contract status to not be sent to calendars. Then only Confirmed events will show.
