UTM Parameter issues

I have several leads with a UTM parameter that We have not made publicly available yet. I ONLY sent it via text to charity. Not even with IO Phone. She scanned the code once and that's been it. However, I have 9 leads with the parameters set. Can you tell me how that happened? Are the cookies saved on her device and when she creates a lead as an admin it adds them? Can we fix that if it is?

See filter Filter: *UTM Find | InflatableOffice to see the affected leads.

I have developers looking into this further and will advise when I have an update.

I should include that Charity scanned the code to make sure it worked. And never filled out a form.

Still getting it. This person just sent an email to us. No soliciting from us.

Developer advised viewing contracts and quote form with cookies set on your browser will set those cookies on the lead being viewed. To stop this from happening when workers do it it doesn’t happen when you are logged into IO, but checking the logs it seems like that would be what happened here. They added some logging so this should now show in the lead log when this happens.

So I'm clear. This is happening bc she has a cookie on her computer and when she opens a contract it will set the parameters. Unless she's logged into IO?

Bc I'm not seeing a world where an employee is viewing a customer contract without being logged in to their IO.

Per developer: Yes. That’s what appears to have happened.

Okay, cuz I am 100% positive that is not happening on every one of these lead or any one of these leads. Charity is always logged in and she doesn't go and view contracts on her own computer without being logged in or accessing the contract page except from within IO. Furthermore, she's not the one signing it. Should it not be the signature that passes the the your utn parameter

I have given developer your feedback for further review.

Developer is advising and asking the following:

This is the most recent lead where this UTM parameter is set

https://rental.software/account/#/leads/57902979/entity-log

We can see IP 104.49.45.53 changes the status of the quote to Contract Sent, then the next thing in the log is the UTM parameters getting set, via the same IP accessing the contract page. This only gets logged if the users username stored in their session data doesn’t match the username of the lead, as in they aren’t logged in. Are they using incognito mode? This could be causing a mismatch in session data. Also, knowing what the workflow normally is after sending the contract could help

She's not opening it in a private browsing. She usually opening a text/email template. Clicks the last into make sure it opens to the contract page without issue, and then sends. But she's still logged in to her account. How long before that cookie stops doing that? Or better yet, how can we delete that cookie so it stops doing it?

Developer advised:

Simply clearing the cookies on your browser should stop these from getting set. It’s different on different browsers but should be easy enough to figure out. If they want they can send a video of them doing whatever they normally do so we could see the exact work flow so we could come up with an exact answer.

Ok. I can figure that out. In the mean time. She is using safari when she's checking those links.
