Maintenance reports

Is there any way you guys can give me the tools to build maintenance reports? I want to see a list of items in maintenance, and type of maintenance needed, sorted by their next booked date. There are several possible ways I can see to accomplish this. Maybe there is some way to do this already, but I can't find it.

One possibility: Let me add optional fields to maintenance items and build maintenance reports. Any report would need to be filtered and sorted by upcoming leads.

Another possibility: Use tags. If I could add tags to items (wet, dirty, etc) then put those on a report and filter by upcoming leads, I could use tags instead of the maintenance module.

Or maybe you guys have the ability to build a preset dashboard chart for maintenance. If so, I would want one chart for available items and one chart for unavailable. The chart would need to show the reason it is in maintenance, so optional fields would be very helpful.

Yes!!! I too have been asking for this! So I'm adding my name to this request as a strong supporter of both reports and optional fields AND maybe even filters.

I'd like to add to this:

1. the ability to add items in maintenance by the app get support for the available/unavailable dropdown.

2. a page/template or packinglist template, we can use to print off the ones we need to with a checklist of what needs to be done. Check my packinglist templates for the one "Cleaning/Maintenance" https://rental.software/account/#/settings/packlists/60697

I have passed these requests from each of you along to our developers, and we will keep you updated here with the likelihood and progress of these features. Thank you!

I'm curious if we can come up with an app based solution to this issue. Here's some thoughts.

Allow you to assign tasks linked to items in maintenance that then show on a worker's app. Tasks already have dates associated with them which can be used to determine priority. Allow tasks to link a checklist or document possibly or pull in data from a variable.

I still see a need to allow you to determine what maintenance items need done first. I think a dashboard report might be a good solution for this where we show you what needs handled based on what is booked. Reporting/Filtering of the maintenance page is a good idea too though.

I'm looking at it as the office needs to be able to easily determine what needs done first and easily schedule a worker to do all the items that need done. Checking a dashboard report makes sense to me. Then allowing you to easily schedule tasks for the worker, even if each task is a specific part of a more complete checklist. The tasks should show in the worker app in the order they need dealt with then.

Thoughts?

The dashboard chart would be a great first step, especially if you can do that quickly. We would want two separate charts - one for soft maintenance, and one for unavailable items. Tasks, and anything beyond that, will always be helpful, but if you can build those charts with your existing tools, my warehouse guys would love to have that now.

I love anything we can do in the app. BUT for the office, I think if we can make our own reports and optional fields in maintenance along with the preset reports you suggest, we'd be allowed to get pretty granular with what we want/need to see.

I'm honestly having a hard time comprehending the suggestions so I'm sure the 2 of you will come up with something that works better than what we have now. 😀

We have a pretty long list right now, so I will focus on the quick win by putting a dashboard report together. Even that may take 3-4 months to complete or more.
