I would like to add a $50 off coupon for 4th of July special- all 4 hour rental windows for the 4th, 5th, and the 6th but it does not give me the option to set dates?

A better way to create this type of special would be a legacy promotion, which would allow you to set the active dates for the special:

You will want the promo date to always be valid, otherwise this discount would only get applied when the quote is placed on those dates.

Thank you, is there a way to set it for only 4 hour rental periods? I normally give 4 hour, 8 hour and overnight options but would like this offer to only apply to rentals of 4 hours.

In this case, it would actually be best to use a standard promotion. You would have to first create a filter for leads that qualify for the special, something like this, where qualifying items are listed in a separate group separated by ORs:
Then, you can create a promotion that matches this filter and receives the $50 reward. You will not have to worry about making it active for certain dates, as this would already be built into the filter.
