Contract Due Date Template Variable

Hey folks,

I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to automatically add the due date for clients to sign our contracts with a specific date being added to our email via template variables. Ideally, I would love to set it up so that when we send an email, it will automatically add the due date as a week from the day we sent the email. I see a ton of different date variables, but I don't see if there is an option to tweak it in a way for the system to automatically add the date that's a week from the current date.

EX: If I were to send this out today on 5/2, the email would say something like:

"Please return the signed contract by 5/9 to lock in your date and attractions." With the "5/9" being a variable that would adjust the date based on when the contract itself got sent out.

Has anyone else tried this and found any success here? Thanks!

Dynamically calculating a due date (like 7 days from send time) within our email templates isn't a feature. Template variables will only pull existing data, and there isn't really a way to set a field forward based upon contract sent date.

You'll likely need to either:

  • Mention in the email that the due date is 7 days from the send date.
  • Set up a follow-up reminder automation for contracts not signed after 7 days.
  • Continue manually adding the due date to each email.

Let us know if we can help with this.

Thanks Nick, do you think that could be a feature developed in the future?

Right now we just have it set as "Due Date" in our template and then we manually enter the due date because our clients tend to not sign right away until we remind them and lay out the actual due date in the email. We have another auto email to go out within that week but was just wondering if this would be an option in the future, thanks!

I will ask this of our developers and will let you know what they advise the likelihood and timeframe of such a feature would be, as well as any updates towards the progress here.
