Discounts on items in quotes do not display in customer quote

When I apply a discount to an item in the customer quote, it only shows the final price of the item after the discount. It does not display the original item price and the amount of the discount I applied. The customer may not even realize I applied a discount. Is there a way to display the original amount, discount and final amount for each item?
