When I google search what IMAP does. It explains very clearly that functionality is exactly what IMAP is for. To sync across all clients with the provider. So when I mark an email as read in gmail or outlook, it should reflect in IO as being read. I can understand why you may not want to go that direction, but it seems you'd definitely want to make sure that if it 's read in IO it would be marked as such at the provider.

I should also add, the notification bell notified me of the new message a couple minutes after recording the video. Seems a little slow.

Our IMAP integration isn't meant to be a full featured email software. We only check every 5 minutes for emails, and since we are checking many email accounts, this can result in emails not showing as promptly as your email client. Additionally, we are not updating the email on the server marking it read or deleting it. These would be great features, but we are not there yet.

oh man, that means extra work. I'd have to mark an email as closed in both io and gmail. Can you send a video or instruction on how you all use it in conjunction with your email account so I have an idea of what a good workflow is if I use that with the email? Do I just leave the email provider alone and let them all remain unread?

We don't use it for all our email accounts. We use if for a couple general accounts that we want many people to have access to. In these case, we do not look at those email accounts. We only work them through the CRM tool. Other email accounts that are more specific to a person, we don't bring in to IO because we would rather use normal email tools to work those.

Makes sense. I'm not sure I think that's the BEST way for the average company using the CRM Though. OR maybe it'd be better to say that's a really hard way to get used to. We're going to maybe try it out and see how it goes. We have one central email and then each employee, and don't sync the employees either.

IF I could request a feature, I'd like to see the main email preferences sync more precisely and then the worker ones are as they are. Maybe it's the OCD in me that knows my phone is going to show 100s of unread email notifications I know I've worked in IO but still have the dot. Guess it's change. Tons of thoughts sorry.

I agree, that would be better. I just don't have the dev time for the change currently.
