Cleaning up Leads

I have numerous leads whose event date has passed and I want to set them to the status of "Canceled". The leads are currently saved as "Partial" because I do not know event address and the system is requiring that to save the lead in any other status.
What is the best way to address this issue?

I would recommend setting up an automation that turns leads that are in the partial status to a lost sale status. You could create an automation that will change the statuses after x amount of days.

I wouldn't move them to canceled bc that will trigger an email (if it's active) to let them know the event was canceled. When I was using the partial status, I just left them there. It didn't mean anything. BUT if you want to move them to a status, I at one time, had a lost status that I moved everything that wasn't confirmed or complete or canceled after it's event date to that status.
The filter looked something like:
Lead status does not contain Confirmed
OR Lead status does not contain Complete
OR Lead status does not contain Canceled
AND (this is an add group)
Event Start Date Last x Days 1
