I would like to be able to send different yearly reminders to each customer type.

You can do a "save copy" of the yearly reminder to make a duplicate. Then, apply customer type filters to each. I would recommend this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=pXSDBH88aZ4
