Cancellation of booking is still active for customer to sign

When a customer's invoice is sent to them and they do not respond for a while we move that invoice to "cancelled". The link, however, still allows the client to digitally sign it and it does not change it to confirmed. How can we cancel an event WITHOUT removing permanently all the quotes/revision links, etc in the contract section? It's nice to have that reference of the multiple revisions that a client made before cancelling the event.
There is not a feature specifically designed for this at this time. I would recommend creating a new contract template that simply says something like "The original contract for your event has expired. Please contact our office at..." Then, create a "cancelled event" contract for leads when you move them to that status.

On the old contract pages, there was the ability to hide the payment option until the contract was signed, preventing even more hassle of doing a void if the customer signed after being cancelled.
Are you able to do this on the new pages?

I know this question has been asked but is there any way to disable contract signing or prevent payments from being made when a contract does not exist? I have been deleting the contracts thinking they would not be able to sign or pay, but they can still do both.

On our next release it will no longer allow them to sign the contract if it doesn't exist.
