Locating Lead/Events on Mobile device like tablet

In the desktop version of IO, the Lead/Event page has Panel on the left that allows the user to conduct searched for leads and even apply filters. For example, you could search for your lead by simply typing "John Brown" in the left panel search bar. However, when using a tablet this LEFT PANEL IS TOTALLY ABSENT. So how does one search for a Lead/Event using a Tablet or Mobile device? I am always on the go and would like to update my customer's booking anytime I want using my tablet but I cant even locate the Lead using my tablet. The only way I can actually find the client is to scroll through hundred's of leads until their name pops up. This is extremely time-consuming. There must be a better way. Can someone help?
