Add inventory from an outside vendor that doesn't us IO

What is the best way to add an inventory option for an item from an outside vendor that doesn't use IO? For example sometimes we will rent more 6' tables than we have in inventory and we will sub-rent them. Currently we have them marked as infinite available, but that has made things very challenging lately trying to manage and keep up with. I know I could add it as another item, but then it is another line item on the quote and invoices which confuse people plus it will duplicate the items on our website.

You maybe want make an item with the same name and put in a serial number so you know it's a vendor item? I wouldn't give an infinite amount. Maybe just a few extra? So the system would pull from your tables first...then the second set of tables second.
