Recovery Time for Inventory Items

How can I add a recovery time to certain items in inventory so that no one can book them until after the recovery time is over? Ex. if someone books a tent, we want to prevent other customers from booking that tent until the recovery time of 48 hours is over, which would be after the customer's rental time ends.
