Required accessories are preventing quotes

We've started having a lot of people trying to get quotes on items that have required accessories that are in conflict say they can't submit the quote. It seems all of my relevant settings are correct. We haven't had this issue until today. Ex Lead 54707693

Could you please clarify what is included in the Synthetic Ice Rink w/ Fencing item? I noticed that several accessories are listed as required, but some of the quantities appear inconsistent.

For example, the aluminum fencing requires 17 panels per rink. Since there are only 32 panels currently in inventory, it wouldn’t be possible to rent out two rinks simultaneously, as 34 panels would be needed. The same issue applies to the benches. There are only 4 benches in inventory, and each rink requires 4, which also limits rentals to one rink at a time.

It may be helpful to review the accessories linked to the Synthetic Ice Rink w/ Fencing item to confirm which components should be marked as “required” and ensure the available quantities are accurate.

I don't do online quoting. I have everything set to show available, don't show quote. They should be able to submit a quote regardless of conflicts.

We're not talking booking. We're talking quote submission.

I tested out trying to submit a quote for the ice rink and noticed the error you are referring to in the quoting process. I am going to have our developers take a look to see what the exact cause is. I will let you know when I get a response from the developers!

We've had issues on other products as well

Could you let me know some of the other items and I can let them know?

Today we had an order for some tables and chairs. I'll see if I can find the lead.

Our development team recommends ensuring that any required accessories with selectable options remain visible to customers. For example, the “Choose an Attendant” option is currently hidden but requires a selection to proceed. Please review your accessory settings and confirm that all required options are visible so customers can make their selections and submit quotes without issue.

We literally have never had to do that. We've been doing it for 2 years and then all the sudden we have to now?

I am going to ask the developers why this use to work and it does not work now. While we wait for some answers, you could try unhiding the required accessories that require customers to choose an accessory choice, like the "Choose and Attendant" accessory, and perform a sync to see if that does resolve the issue. If the "Choose and Attendant" option is no longer needed as an accessory on this item, you can also remove it as an accessory. This is not necessary if you wish to simply wait for the developers response, but it is just a suggestion in the meantime.

I get that. But I don't want our clients to select. That adds too many steps. I can do it another way but this was easier so staff wouldn't forget to do it.

And, it's not on everything.

From my perspective, this appears to be the only potential cause of the issue. However, if this item is strictly here to inform your staff of who is needed, you might consider removing that as a required accessory and exploring an alternative method for implementing staffing. There were some recent updates to the way packages function, so I’m checking whether those changes may be contributing to the issue.

You’re welcome to wait for their response or run a few tests on your end in the meantime. We should receive a reply fairly soon, so there’s no need to rush anything if you prefer to hold off!

Could you let me know how this was working beforehand when it comes to the required accessories with choices you are hiding? How did the "Choos Attendant" item work. Is a certain attendant supposed to be autoselected when customers rent this item?

No. We don't allow online quoting. So they select their items (all have a required choose attendant option), tell us if they want staffed or not in the delivery preference then my staff manually selects the options in the choose. The requirement makes it a reminder, if you will, to select the appropriate volunteer or staff.

We do it this way bc it makes it more obvious that rentals have to have attendants on the contract and invoices.

I think we figured it out though. I had 1 too many boxes checked.
